How to color grade a video in your browser

A complete grade takes about ten minutes in Colurvist: pick a look, balance it with sliders, check the scopes, refine with curves, export. No install, and none of it costs credits.

Open the editor and import your clip. Go to colurvist.com/editor, press Upload on the ＋ button, and pick a video. It lands on the timeline with its audio underneath.
Start with a look. Open the Color tab. The grid shows 80 looks, each previewed on frames pulled from your own footage rather than a stock image. Click one to preview it on the picture; press its + to apply it to the clip.
Balance exposure and colour. Use the sliders under the looks: exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, temperature, tint, saturation, clarity and film fade. Small moves — a look already did most of the work.
Read the scopes, not the monitor. Open Scopes. The waveform shows where your brightness sits: keep skin around the middle and let blacks touch the bottom without piling up there. The vectorscope shows colour balance — skin tones fall on a known line between red and yellow; if yours drift, nudge tint.
Refine with curves. Open Curves. Pull the master curve into a gentle S for contrast, or lift the bottom-left point for a faded, filmic black. The R, G and B curves shift colour per tonal range — a touch of blue in the shadows and warmth in the highlights is the classic teal-and-orange split.
Match the rest of the timeline. Click each other clip and apply the same look, then adjust exposure only. Consistency matters more than any single frame.
Export. Press Export. Choose a preset (YouTube 4K, Reels, TikTok) or set aspect and resolution by hand. The grade bakes into the render exactly as the preview showed it. To carry the look into other software, use Export .cube LUT.

Three habits that make a grade look professional

Grade for skin first. If faces look right, viewers forgive everything else. Put a skin tone on the vectorscope line before you touch anything creative.
Protect the blacks. A crushed shadow cannot be recovered on export. The waveform will show a flat line at the bottom when you have gone too far.
Less on every clip beats more on one. The most common amateur tell is one heavily graded hero shot next to untouched ones.

Is color grading free on Colurvist?

Yes. Every editing tool — looks, curves, scopes, LUT export, rendering — is free. Credits are only spent on AI generation.

What is the difference between a look and a LUT?

A look is a preset inside the editor that you can adjust after applying. A LUT (.cube file) is the same colour transform frozen into a file other software can load. Colurvist can export your current grade as a LUT.

Does the grade export at full quality?

The render bakes the same filter chain the preview uses, so preview and export cannot drift. Export goes up to 4K, with an optional AI upscale for footage that started smaller.
