Veo 3.1 — when the shot is the point
Veo is the model that looks most like it was filmed. Lens behaviour, light falling across a room, a slow push-in on a landscape — it reads like coverage rather than animation, and the sound is generated with the picture, not bolted on afterwards. That is why it costs what it costs: about four times a Kling clip.
Its two limits are hard ones. Shots are fixed at roughly eight seconds, and it declines photos of real people. If you want a specific person on screen, Veo is the wrong tool no matter how good it looks.
Kling 3.0 — when it has to be that face
Kling works from a start image and films forward from it, treating your photo as the literal first frame. That is the whole reason it keeps faces: it is not imagining a person who resembles yours, it is animating yours. Give it a start and an end image and it bridges them into one continuous move.

That is what makes it the pick for a sequence: same character, same jacket, shot after shot.
